Taking responsibility -
for the environment and society

For us, sustainability means using resources consciously, avoiding waste and taking social responsibility. With innovative solutions and sustainable processes, we make an active contribution to a greener future.

Resource conservation and recycling.

Sustainable use of raw materials is a central component of our corporate philosophy. In order to avoid material waste and use resources efficiently, we have chosen a well-smart recycling concept that reduces waste and reuses valuable materials.

A particular focus here is on reusing our production offcuts. Through smart logistics and regional cooperations, we ensure that this waste is processed effectively. Our solutions help optimise material usage and create sustainable products.

Our offcuts don't go to waste: the shipping company that supplies us with materials also takes away our production waste.

A company in the same commercial area processes these production offcuts to produce durable rubber mats for playgrounds, sports facilities and industrial applications - a sustainable cycle that conserves resources and avoids unnecessary transport.
100% recyclable
100% recyclability Production offcuts that are not suitable for further processing are fully recycled and fed back into the material cycle, ensuring that no valuable raw material goes to waste.

Solar energy from our own roof.

A significant proportion of our energy needs is covered by our in-house photovoltaic system. The solar panels installed on our roof convert sunlight into clean, renewable energy that is used in our production processes.

As a result, we not only reduce our CO₂ emissions, but also make an active contribution to conserving valuable resources. Using solar energy allows us to reduce our use of conventional energy sources while making our production processes more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Taking responsibility for society.

For us, sustainability means not only protecting the environment, but also social responsibility. We are convinced that corporate success and social commitment are inseparably linked. That's why we are actively involved in education, social projects and environmental protection.

Our goal is to empower people and communities, and to make a positive contribution to society. With targeted measures and long-term partnerships, we get involved wherever we can make a sustainable difference.

Promotion of education and research

We actively support schools, universities and educational institutions to facilitate young people's access to knowledge and innovative ideas. By supporting projects and scholarships, we contribute to the training of future specialists and innovators.

Partnerships with social initiatives

Together with local and regional partners, we are committed to projects that promote social cohesion and support people in challenging circumstances. Through these partnerships, we foster community spirit and ensure that help reaches those who need it the most.

Commitment to environmental projects

In addition to environmental measures within our company, we are also actively involved in external environmental projects. Whether by supporting afforestation programmes, promoting sustainable initiatives or participating in local initiatives, we are committed to preserving the natural world.

This year, we are supporting the Bad Harzburg Foundation's “Streuobstwiesen” (orchard) project.
The aim is to grow five trees in the first three years. As a valuable part of a diverse cultural landscape, traditional orchards contribute to both nature and landscape conservation while also providing healthy, locally-sourced fruit. That is why the Bad Harzburg Foundation, in collaboration with the city of Bad Harzburg, is initiating the establishment of a traditional orchard at Heiligenholz (Bolzplatz).

This year, we supported the "Jugendwaldeinsatz 2024" (youth forest mission 2024) project of "Schule am Harly" school.
The students at this special needs school actively participated in an environmental protection project, where they contributed to the care and preservation of the forest. Experiences like these promote awareness of sustainability and are crucial for raising awareness among the next generation of the importance of protecting our environment. It's great to see that young people are involved in such important topics.

Through our participation in the Deutschlandstipendium (German Scholarship Programme), W. Brodhage OHG is supporting particularly talented and committed students at the University of Göttingen, thereby developing the next generation in a decisive life phase. The Deutschlandstipendium is a Federal Government initiative. Students receive a monthly allowance of EUR 300, half of which is provided by a private sponsor with the Federal Government providing the other half. This creates space during the period at university for more personal development.

"With the support of the Deutschlandstipendium, our sponsors are making an important contribution for the future. Our scholarship recipients are committed young people who are ready to assume responsibility. The sponsorship by W. Brodhage OHG will empower them along this path. And for this we thank you!"

During the summer of 2014, we organised a competition for Industrial Design students at Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) spanning two semesters. Supervised by Prof. Erich Kruse, 21 students took punch remnants and set about developing possible new purposes for them. Over the course of two months, a number of very interesting designs and ideas came together, making the jurors' decision a very tough one indeed. The jurors were Dr. Eva Helmold-Kaselowsky - Managing Director, W. Brodhage OHG, Ms. Uschi Lang (Sales Assistant Sekisui Alveo AG) and Mr. Oliver Mette (Managing Director, Logoform design agency).

The winners' table shows just how close the designs were in terms of quality. But the biggest winner is the environment, because every idea results in a reduction of wasted punch remnants, and we will check out the feasibility of implementing each idea.

Our sincere thanks goes to all participants for contributing great ideas, and also Prof. Kruse for supervising the competition, as well as Uschi Lang of Sales Assistant Sekisui Alveo AG and Oliver Mette of Logoform GmbH for their dedicated engagement with the competition.

Three of the judges are wearing white shirts, the fourth is wearing a brown shirt and is holding a head of lettuce.
